What is available on this website?
The Science and Religion Articles of Distinction web site includes articles from various publications in categories such as biology and religion, cosmology and God, and forgiveness and reconciliation. A complete list of categories is found on the home page
What is not contained on this website?
The Science and Religion Articles of Distinction web site does not include advertising. We do however, have information about each publisher that has articles posted on our site.
How do I purchase articles online?
Advice for new users: After you do a search, a screen will come up with the results of that search. You may preview a portion of the document for free. Once you determine which document you would like to purchase, click on the icon with the buy button. If you are a new user, you will be taken to a log-in screen to set up your SRAOD account.
Once you register, you will be prompted through the purchasing process. After confirming your purchase, you will receive an e-mail notification providing you with a link to download full text. The document will be displayed in PDF format.
We encourage you to download the document, as you will not have access to the contents at a later date.
Will I be asked for credit card information for free articles?
Our checkout system is designed to bypass the credit card portion of the check out process if the article you are downloading is free.
What forms of payment are accepted for purchasing articles?
SRAOD currently accepts American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa credit/debit cards
What is your refund policy?
SRAOD orders are final. Please check your cart carefully before supplying credit card information.
How do I order a complete issue of a publication that contains the article I purchased?
Each article found on our web site displays the name of the publication, volume number and issue number. SRAOD will provide links to other publisher websites so that you may order directly from that publisher.
How can I get the best results from a search?
Be specific with your search terms. If your search is unsuccessful, refine your search terms. To narrow your search, use the advanced search page to fill in date range, author, categories, headline, subject fields, or keywords. The more information you provide, the more precise your search results will be. To get more results, select different search words or a longer date range.
Using AND narrows the search, using OR broadens the search, and using NOT excludes unwanted items. The NOT operator is useful in refining an initial query that returns a broad list of results.
On our home page you will find a link to a list of keywords. These words are in alphabetical order and may used as a secondary source in your advanced search.
What part of the article is actually searched for my search term?
The basic search includes the full text of the entire article, as well as text from the headline, author field, date range, subject terms, and so on.
How do I browse articles that appeared on one specific day?
On the advanced search page, use the date range option to select the specific date, insert a "*" into the "Search for" field, and click the search button.
What formats are available for viewing an article?
Each article will contain a preview pane and a full text verion.
Preview - The free preview provides bibliographic information about the article, such as author and publication date, and a brief summary. This format contains no photos.
Full Text - The full text version is a PDF that includes the citation along with the complete text of the article. This format contains photos if applicable.
